Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for articulated haul operations
- Access, interpret and apply conducting articulated dump truck documentation
- Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Identify hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures in line with workplace policies
- Select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities
- Access, interpret and apply required geological and survey data to meet work requirements
- Coordinate and communicate planned activities with others at the site prior to commencement of work activity
- Operate articulated haul truck in line with established requirements
- Carry out prestart and start-up checks in line with workplace procedures
- Identify faults or defects and rectify or report within scope of own responsibility and according to workplace procedures
- Drive and operate articulated rigid haul truck using techniques suited to equipment capabilities, site and work conditions, and according to workplace procedures
- Monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- Monitor hazards and risks during operations, and ensure safety to self, others, plant and equipment
- Load, haul and dump materials to complete work activity
- Conduct housekeeping activities
